KEXP - A Four Letter Word I Like to Hear

This morning I felt jubilant, almost childlike, which lasted my entire commute of 22.7 miles.

The nitro: excellent music from “John in the Morning” on KEXP (90.3, www.kexp.org), strong coffee and a relentlessly-evil radio, which intermittently shut itself off.

The glycerin: counting how many times this crappy radio cut out and the long-standing desire to let John know he does a great job, while avoiding a groupie button. So I sent an email…

Hi John,

Enjoyed your show on my commute today in a borrowed truck with a strong fuel smell, coolant leak and a radio that cut out 12 times.

I must get that radio looked at.

Thanks for the music,
Brian Wilson

Meet Zack (alias ProZack)

Zack is my partner in crime, who is leaving his job to chase a girl to Colorado. IS HE NUTS? Nope, great move, 100% endorsement, best wishes mate. Zack is kind, funny, generous, fun and wanted by all.

Peek a Boo

Tonight I came home to ants covering the counters, floor and cupboards. I killed everything that moved and then focused on the refrigerator, the last appliance. After pulling it from the wall, I came face to face with a mouse in his doorway and Devo came to mind.

Peek-a-boo!
I can see you
And I know what you do
So put your hands on your face
And cover up your eyes
Don’t look until I signal
Peek-a-boo! peek-a-boo! peek-a-boo!
The way that we weren’t is what we’ll become
So please pay attention while I show you some
Of what’s about to happen
Peek-a-boo!
I know what you do
Cause I do it too
Laugh if you want to or say you don’t care
If you cannot see it you think it’s not there
It doesn’t work that way

This can wait fix.

Tiny meets Mini

Stacy's new car and mine sniffing each other out in her apartment garage. Stacy bought the car I always wanted, but keep in the closet because of my anti-car rhetoric, but now that this has been blown apart by buying a car, I WANT ONE. When I bought my 77 Honda, it was mini substitute, so it was branded the Tiny.

The neighbors are surely confused, red car gone, yellow car in place, red car back, we're keeping them guessing. Parking in this garage is like running category 4 river rapids on NyQuil, but "kiddie pool" with these two.

I came over after work to assemble Stacy's IKEA furniture, raid her kitchen, and wish for a chance meeting. Stacy can safely store food in her kitchen, but even if I could, it wouldn't be as good.

Not Alone

I found vermant droppings and desided to investigate.

The reek punches me in the face every day and it laughs at incense and candles. This fan is the jaws of life and $40 well spent.

I'm afraid, this can wait.

Easy Off, Not Really

Watched Patriot Games last night, feel asleep afterwards and woke up face to face with this screen.

MP3-D2 is my link to sanity. 4,500 tracks, radio, 106dB sound and moves with the task.

It took a week to disassemble and clean the oven.

Out of Clothes, Going In

After a week, I find myself out of clean clothes and forced to face the washer and dryer. The vent hose is plugged, dog hair with cigarette resin coats everything and the only option is to disassemble the unit.

On the plus side, art found!

8 hours later.
