Theatergoers waiting in line for Unexpected Productions shows have been expressing themselves on the Gum Wall since 1991. It all started with a wad of gum and a penny. To watch art in progress, tune into the Gum Wall Webcam before a performance.
The long search for my father has ended. Dilys and Christine determined he is Jean Paul Belmondo, the French film star. Mr. Belmondo, I mean dad, was part of the French New Wave movement, which of course predisposed me to join the 80's New Wave movement. Anyone have his number?

Really. Are you sure? At first glance this email may appear discouraging, but it's a step up from no response!
Woke at 4 AM this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. While consuming a pot of coffee, completing an on-line course and observing large bats (imagination + seagulls), my phone went bleep. An international text message!
Called Christine straight away and had a lovely visit.
As a bonus, I learned about snowdrops (Galanthus Nivalusis). 
An hour later...


Woke up to beautiful light this morning and ventured to the waterfront for some snaps of the harbor. It was wonderful up to the point of being questioned and asked for ID by a group of 5 officers patrolling the ferry dock. My reply, "are you kidding?" It seemed absurd, since I had walked directly to them, taken pictures while next to their vehicles, and even changed lenses a couple times. I feel sad and angry about how paranoid our culture is and how some of the joys of living are being tainted. But hell, on with the pictures...
